painting, Hendrick van der Burgh, 17th century, Signature front, right, above the bench: h. van burch, panel, oil paint, painted, Carrier: 39.8 × 35.2 × 0.7cm 398 × 352 × 7mm, With frame: 50.7 × 46.5 × 3.7cm 507 × 465 × 37mm, fisherman, woman, genre, man, interior, Painting depicting a house interior with various people. In a simple room with heavy beams and a wide chimney against the back wall, with some dishes, there are three men and two women. In the middle, an old fisherman is used to the left, the left elbow resting on a barrel with a jug. He is holding a pipe in the right hand and is wearing a short gray beard. He is dressed in a wide blue cap, a red tube, with a gray jacket and white collar, wide gray trousers and blue stockings. On the left, almost completely turned to the right, is a young woman holding a small bowl. Behind the old man stands a young man standing straight forward, stretching his left hand to the fire. He is wearing a brown fur hat. In the middle in front of the fireplace sits a bench and used to the left a second young man, who lights his pipe in a test with charcoal. He is wearing a big black hat and brown tube. On the long right and center, a young woman is sitting on a long sofa, who, like the other woman, wears a white cap and collar. To the left of the window a kitchen counter with a bottle, glass and pipe, and in the foreground a wooden bucket with large fish. Signed on the right. The painting is in a black-painted wooden frame. On the back of the painting is written in 17th or 18th century script C.C. with a red wax seal, 1926.
