Model of a Stopper and Bitts, Model of a safe stopper with chain, on a floorboard, with a separate beting. At the end of the floorboard the chain runs through a normal pincher. The stopper consists of a set of disks mounted in the floor at the other end, one of which rotates around an eccentric shaft, the chain runs around the hard drive, forward around the eccentric drive and back again. The tension on the chain pulls the eccentric disc backwards so that the chain is clamped between the two discs. There is a disk around the base of the loose octagonal bite so that it can replace the hard disk on the floorboard., Rijkswerf Amsterdam, 1854, wood (plant material), brass (alloy), iron (metal), stopper: h 17.5 cm × w 118 cm × d 30.3 cm bitts: h 20 cm × w 16.9 cm × d 16.5 cm
