Copper phosphate precipitate, 1 of 3

Copper phosphate precipitate, 1 of 3. This series shows a progression as copper sulphate (CuSO4) is added to a test tube containing sodium phosphate (Na3PO4). Both solutions are 0.5 M concentration. Copper phosphate precipitate (Cu3(PO4)2) is formed as a result: CuSO4 + Na3PO4 -> Cu3(PO4)2 + Na2SO4. This is an example of a double displacement reaction.
