The boys met last September 10 in a box at the Meiji Swimming Stadium, during the All-Japan Intercollegiate Swimming Meet. Young MacArthur tried to start a conversation but the Crown Prince, four years older, was sensitive about the language and begged off explaining his English was not very good.
