1833. One of five bound volumes of Le Charivari, from 1832 to 1835. A daily satirical periodal issued in Paris between 1832 and 1937, Le Charivari began publishing caricatures satirizing daily life after the 1835 ban on political satire. Artists including Honoré Daumier and Charles-Joseph Traviès contributed lithographs and wood engravings.
