Georges Bizet, French Composer

Alexandre César Léopold Bizet (October 25, 1838 - June 3, 1875) was a French romantic composer. He achieved few successes before his final work, Carmen. After its premiere, Bizet was convinced that the work was a failure; he died of a heart attack three months later, unaware that it would prove a spectacular and enduring success.
