Adoration of the kings, Mary sits on a raised profile to the left with the naked Child on her lap, who turns to the kneeling Melchior, who holds it to a ciborium. From left to right the standing figure of Caspar, a young man with a sword. Balthasar with crown and St. Joseph. Above them a cloud bank, against which two naked angelic angels, each holding a spell band together, are flanked on both sides by a cut-off cherub. The bottom is in a slanted cartouche, on which the mongram HVH, adoration of the kings: the Wise Men present their gifts to the Christ-child (gold, frankincense and myrrh), anonymous, Mechelen, c. 1600, alabaster (mineral), h 16 cm × w 11 cm.
