Lectured at Kile university until 1936, then worked with Bayer - Leverkusen (I.G. Farben). 1940 appointed Prof. at Cologne University where now heading chemical institute of university. Working together in Kiel both scientists discovered the Dien-Synthesis, a revolutionary process which made the two world famous. The Dien-Synthesis is the transformation of simple carbon combinations into double or manyfold ones. Nobelpriset i kemi 1950 (tillsammans med Otto Diels) persons: Kurt Alder sites: TYSKLAND.
