Juan Domingo Peron ( 8 October 1895 1 July 1974) was an Argentine military officer and politician.<br/><br/>. After serving in several government positions, including those of Minister of Labour and Vice President of the Republic, he was three times elected as President of Argentina, serving from June 1946 to September 1955, when he was overthrown in a coup d'etat, and from October 1973 until his death in July 1974.<br/><br/>. Maria Eva Duarte de Peron (7 May 1919 26 July 1952) was the second wife of Argentine President Juan Peron (18951974) and served as the First Lady of Argentina from 1946 until her death in 1952.<br/><br/>. She is usually referred to as Eva Peron, or by the affectionate Spanish language diminutive Evita.
