Title: Male Thorax Revealing Trachea and Lungs
Caption: 3-D visualization using scanned human data of the anterioinferior view of the lungs and trachea. Air is carried from trachea to the bronchi to the bronchioles, which are small branches of bronchi within the lungs. Bronchioles act as air pathways for oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through during the respiration process. At the end of every bronchiole is an alveolus, which is a small sac that allows for gas exchange within the circulatory system.
