Relief Depicting the Nurse Tia

Relief Depicting the Nurse Tia. Dimensions: h. 23.1 cm (9 1/8 in); w. 54 cm (21 1/4 in); th. 3.7 cm (1 7/16 in). Dynasty: Dynasty 18. Reign: reign of Akhenaten. Date: ca. 1353-1336 B.C..
The large figure of the king, at the left, and the smaller figure of a young woman offering bread loaves appear to be participating in two different scenes. The sidelock of hair would usually identify the girl as a princess, but here, the inscription behind her reads "the nurse of the king's daughter Ankhesenpaaten, Tia," and it seems likely that this is a representation of the nurse.
