French Second Empire. Private collection. - 1st sword :. Hilt in gilded and engraved brass, polished and unpolished. Pommel with the letter 'N', topped by the imperial crown of the French Second Empire. Sculpted guard branch, decorated with oak leaves. Inscription 'Viriliter Age'. Metal plate with the imperial eagle. 'Prospere Procede et regna', with leaves and laurel branches. Triangular blade, gilded and engraved. Wooden sheath covered with black shagreen with two trimmings, in gilded and engraved brass. - 2nd sword :. Hilt in engraved iron, polished. Guard with five branches engraved with leaves. Curved crossguard. Straight blade, gilded and engraved. On one of its sides: 'N' under imperial crown, war trophies and leaves, surrounding the inscription 'Prospere Procede et Regna', on the other side: imperial eagle, war trophies and leaves surrounding the inscription 'Viriliter Age'. Sheath in sheet iron, engraved with laurel and oak leaves
