Remains of Bolingbroke Castle and Civil War siegework, Old Bolingbroke, Lincolnshire, 2018. Originally built in c1220, Bolingbroke Castle was defended by Royalist forces during the Civil War and was badly damaged during a siege in 1643. The castle was slighted in 1652 to prevent it being used again.
