The repeating pattern consists of a hanging pomegranate, with a large incised leaf hanging straight down, three smaller leaves on top forming the crown of sepals and flower remnants typical of the grantate apple. The consecutive pomegranates are connected by a circle. At the top of the strip is a row of circles, one circle between two pomegranates. The motifs are connected by a nice mesh ground, a Mechelen ground. The motifs are made in linen with cutouts and thicker and shiny contour threads. A decorative soil has been used in the pomegranates and the incised leaves, with berries made in the center in form. An ornamental soil with coarser diamond-shaped meshes has been applied in the space under the apples, up to the incised leaves. The top of the strip is finished straight. The scallop edge along the underside undulates along the incised leaves and is finished with picots. The short sides are finished with a zoom., anonymous, Mechelen, c. 1825 - c. 1880, linen (material), Mechlin (lace), l 150 cm × w 4 cm ×, 1.4 cm.
