Mentuhotep II's temple at the Deir el-Bahari, mortuary temples and tombs, near Luxor, Egypt. It was constructed around 2000 BC, During the 11th dynasty. Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II (reigned c. 2061 BC – 2010 BC) was a Pharaoh of the 11th Dynasty who reigned for 51 years. Mentuhotep II's most ambitious and innovative building project remains his large mortuary temple. The many architectural innovations of the temple mark a break with the Old Kingdom tradition of pyramid complexes and foreshadow the Temples of Millions of Years of the New Kingdom.
