MUGHAL CHITARMAN. The emperor (Muhammed Shah) is making love upon a bed placed on a verandah before a fountain and pool, with two girl attendants standing on either side holding a 'morchal' and fan. There is a green halo about the emperor's head and he still wears his white jama and turban. Flowers are in the foreground, and the canopy and blinds above are decorated with gold flowers. c.1720-30.
