John the Baptist preaching, In front of a rocky, overgrown landscape, John stands leaning with both arms on a balustrade, formed from a horizontal trunk, placed between two trees. His gaze goes to the left in the direction of a woman sitting at his feet, facing the center. He holds a naked boy on her knee with her left hand, while she reaches the breast with the right. Behind the child a man sitting frontally (the head is missing). The boy has placed his right hand on his mother's chest, but looks back at the seated king, who holds down his scepter in the right hand and lets the left rest on his right arm. Behind this is a young man with the eye on the child. The left hand sticks out of the jacket, which is loosely over the shoulders and completely covers the arm, the right hand is based on the hilt of a sword. Johannes is wearing a dress with frayed sleeves and a loose cloak tied on one shoulder. The woman in profile with a headscarf is dressed in a Renaissance robe, which is suspended around the waist and once again underneath. The cloak hanging from her left shoulder hangs down a large bend and lightly over the right thigh and the left knee. The king, wearing a crown, wears a robe with a broad collar, with bells hanging on it, and high boots, the arm protrudes through the elbow slit of the long sleeve. The figure standing to his right wears a beret with a feather held by a band under the chin and over a pleated shirt a paltrok, including a pair of waffle patterned shorts, trimmed with split decoration, the hanging sleeve of the jacket shows a split at elbow height. The sitting man's robe has a square neckline, along which a regularly cut edge. The representation is set in a round frame and forms part of a square panel, each corner of which is filled by a decorative shaped putto, which places both hands on an animal head resulting from a floral pattern. At both upper putti a slit band connects the lower body with a leaf ornament, Gouda, anonymous, Holland, c. 1530
