Kovach (above) who was a member of the U.S. military mission to Hungary in 1945, today denied that he ever met Laszlo Rajk, former Hungarian foreign minister who is now on trial for treason i Budapest. Kovach, who was a lieutenant colonel at the time was named by Rajk as the U.S. officer who approached him to spy for the United States. Rajk is one of eight former Hungarian communist leaders on trial. He confessed he has been engaged in anti-communist spy activities since 1932, even while he was Hungary's no. 2 communist. Anm.
