The Duke Of Gloucester, Senior Councillor of State, accompanied by the Duchess, yesterday (Sunday) visited the flooded Fens, where thousands of acres of farmland were inundated. They inspected the gap in the bank of the River Ouse at Earith, closed by Royal Engineers who sank Neptune tanks in the breath. March 31, 1947.
