Jane Seymour, third wife and Queen of Henry VIII, (1825). Jane Seymour (c1509-1537) married Henry the day after the execution of the king's scond wife, Anne Boleyn. She was queen for less than two years, dying of puerperal fever, twelve days after giving birth to Henry's longed-for son, who later became Edward VI. After a portrait by Hans Holbein. From Memoirs of the Court of Queen Elizabeth  published in 1825.
