ILLUMINATOR MINAS (?) (ACTIVE IN REGION OF VASPURAKAN (NOW EASTERN TURKEY) ). Armenian Manuscript Bifolium. Artist: Illuminator Minas (?) (active in region of Vaspurakan (now eastern Turkey)). Culture: Armenian. Dimensions: bifolio: 6 3/8 × 10 1/2 in. (16.2 × 26.6 cm) Other (folio): 6 3/8 × 5 1/4 in. (16.2 × 13.3 cm) Frame: 16 5/8 × 20 1/8 × 7/8 in. (42.2 × 51.1 × 2.2 cm). Date: 15th century. Canon tables, a widely used comparative index to the gospels, were developed by Eusebius of Caesarea for his pupil Carpianus who appears in the headpiece of the explanatory page on the right. When bound, the tables on the left would have been one of the following index pages.
