An experimental set of talking Traffic Lights was demonstrated at Hayes , Middlesex , to Police officers , Minstry of Transport officials and Traffic experts . Instructions to pedestrians are recorded on magnatised plastic strips and stored in a little box attached to the traffic lights post , as the lights change the appropriate part of the strip is automatically Switched on .
