View of the Pyramid of Djoser at the Saqqara necropolis northwest of the city of Memphis in Egypt, is the oldest known structure constructed completely of natural stone. It was built during the third dynasty, around 2625 BC for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser by his Vizier Imhotep. The pyramid originally stood 62 meters tall and was clad in polished white limestone.
