Title: Boudica, Queen of the Iceni
Caption: Boudica (died 60 or 61 AD) was the queen of the British Iceni tribe, who led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire. Her army had great success in their battles, took no prisoners, slaughtered everyone in their path, and completely demolished the city of Camulodunum. Engraving by William Sharp published in 1793, based on Boadicea Haranguing the Britons by John Opie (cropped and cleaned).
