"Treaty of Vienna" (1725). Peace treaty between King Philip V and Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor. Concluded in Vienna on 30 April 1725 and ratified by Philip V in San Ildefonso on 26 May of that year. Philip V signed the treaty through Baron de Ripperdá. By this treaty, Charles VI (Archduke Charles) renounced his claims to the Crown of Spain, recognising Philip V as monarch. Spain, for its part, recognised Austrian sovereignty over the former Spanish Netherlands and the territories of Milan, Naples and Sicily. Article I. Collection of the Treaties of Peace, Alliance, Commerce adjusted by the Crown of Spain with the Foreign Powers (Colección de los Tratados de Paz, Alianza, Comercio ajustados por la Corona de España con las Potencias Extranjeras).
