"Treaty of Vienna" (1725). Peace treaty between King Philip V and Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor. Concluded in Vienna on 30 April 1725 and ratified by Philip V in San Ildefonso on 26 May of that year. Philip V signed the treaty through Baron de Ripperdá. By this treaty, Charles VI (Archduke Charles) renounced his claims to the Crown of Spain, recognising Philip V as monarch. Spain, for its part, recognised Austrian sovereignty over the former Spanish Netherlands and the territories of Milan, Naples and Sicily. Article I.
