Low-energy coastal wetland wilderness at the mouth of the Bynoe River, Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, Australia, showing zonation of mangroves and salt-marsh species related to flooding and salinity regimes, fluvial and estuarine landforms, dynamic deltaic intertidal banks, tidal saltflats, and mangrove-lined channels.  This is the habitat of estuarine crocodiles, turtles, dolphins, barramundi and many other fish and marine species, waterbirds and internationally significant numbers of migratory shorebirds.
