The souls of the people who attempted or committed suicide are trasnformed into thorny and gnarled trees. Lano da Siena and Jacopo Sant' Andrea are chased through the woods by ferocious dogs.. Private collection.. In 1921, for Dante Aligheri's 600th anniversary of death, the Istituto Nazionale Dantesco chose Amos Nattini to illustrate The Divine Comedy. The illustrations have been published in 1923.
