Airborne Lifeboats For Saving Life At Sea: Demonstration For Co-Ordination Of Safety At Isle Of Wight.
A rescue launch coming alongside to pick up "survivors" from an airborne lifeboat, which has been dropped into the sea by parachutes from the Lancaster aircraft.
Demonstrations for the co-ordination of saving life at sea and in the air were given at the Isle of Wight, here, at which members of the International committee of experts in the fields of aviation, shipping, telecommunications, and meteorology, now meeting in London to consider what special arrangements are necessary for the further co-ordination of their activities, were present.
