Lot fleeing from Sodom and Gomorrah.

An engraving depicting Lot fleeing from Sodom and Gomorrah when an earthquake circa BC 1900 destroyed them. In the background is Lot's wife turned to a pillar of salt because she looked back. There is evidence of a massive earthquake in the area at this date and might well have arisen from the escape of petroleum gases. Dated 19th century.
