John Nash (1752-1835) reserved one of his most original ceiling designs for the White Drawing Room, ebony-veneered cabinets with gilt-bronze mounts are built into the wall beneath tall mirrors, one of them contains a concealed door. From V.R.I., Her Life and Empire, by The Marquis of Lorne, K.T. [Harmsworth Bros Ltd., London, 1901].
