Worn by a bishop over his right thigh, this vestment depicts the Holy Trinity in the guise of the three angels who visit the patriarch Abraham in Genesis 18. The Slavonic inscription in the border quotes a hymn of thanksgiving in praise of the Trinity, sung at the conclusion of Communion in the Orthodox rite.
