Sudden light and melody. Invoking the Muses. The mystical procession opened by the seven candelabra, followed by 24 elders and winged animals, a chariot bearing Beatrice drawn by a griffin.. . Private collection.. In 1921, for Dante Aligheri's 600th anniversary of death, the Istituto Nazionale Dantesco chose Amos Nattini to illustrate The Divine Comedy. The illustrations have been published in 1923.
