1931. LEON CATHEDRAL. The Gothic Cathedral of León, following the ancient custom of building temples on top of its predecessor, began to be built at the beginning of the 13th century, on top of the Romanesque cathedral (1065 / 1073) and this one on the royal hall of Ordoño II, which in turn was had been built on the site of some Roman themes from the 2nd century. At first, Master Enrique's scheme was followed and in the middle of the 13th century the head was already built. In 1288 the Cathedral was open to worship and the works continued during the 14th century and part of the 15th century.
