Giganotosaurus dinosaur on white background. Possibly the largest known land predator dinosaur, Giganotosaurus lengths have been estimated at 41-43 feet and 45-47 feet. They lived in South America in the middle Cretaceous about 98 million years ago. They are more closely related to Allosaurids and not to Tyrannosaurids at all. This is a close relative of the African Carcharodontosaurus and it is thought they crossed land bridges from Africa to South America as they lived at the same time.
