King Leopold II of Belgium.

Satirical cartoon depicting King Leopold II of Belgium (1835-1909) squeezing his subjects in the Congo Free State (now Zaire) to death. After exposure to exploitation of local labour, in 1908 Belgium annexed the territory and conditions improved slightly from when it was under Leopold's personal rule and it was known as the Belgium Congo until independence. Dated 20th century.
