'Princess Alexandra as Queen of England: Her Majesty passing through the Royal Gallery at the opening of King Edward VII's First Parliament, February 14, 1901'. King Edward VII (1841-1910) and his wife Alexandra of Denmark (1844-1925) in the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. On the death of his mother Queen Victoria on 22 January 1901, Edward became King of the United Kingdom, and Alexandra became Queen consort.
