Giacomo Puccini (1858-1924). Italian composer. Puccini died before finishing his last opera, Turandot (libretto by Adami and Renato Simoni, based on the Italian writer Carlo GozziÕs fable of the same name), which was completed by Franco Alfano and produced posthumously in 1926.
