Swollen scrotum

Swollen scrotum. Artwork of an enlarged, swollen scrotum. This is a hydrocele, an accumulation of fluid in the sac surrounding the testes. A hydrocele may be triggered by inflammation, infection or injury to the testes. The condition is generally painless, but if the swelling becomes too large, uncomfortable or painful, it is treated surgically by draining the fluid.
