Title: Stone Mountain Confederate Memorial
Caption: Stone Mountain Confederate Memorial Carving, Georgia. This is the largest low relief sculpture in the world, depicting Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis and an unknown soldier. The carved surface is three acres in size and was completed in 1972 by chief carver Roy Faulkner. It is a patriotic tribute to the soldiers of the Confederacy. It is also associated with the Klu Klux Klan, since the second incarnation of the clan was formed on Stone Mountain.
