Andrei Rimsky-Korsakov, Russian administrator, 19th century. Andrei Rimsky-Korsakov (1784-1862) was the father of the composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. A man of progresive views, he was dismissed from the post of Governor of Volyn province for expressing sympathy with and assisting the families of exiled Decembrists and the Polish uprising.
