'Gateway of Trinity College, Cambridge', 1898. Trinity College was founded by Henry VIII in 1546, the Great Gate was built at the beginning of the 16th century. Henry VIII, stands in a niche above the doorway, in his right hand he holds a chair leg instead of a sword,  beneath the statue are the coats of arms of Edward III.
