Watchtower from the Louisiana State Penitentiary known as Angola, after the former plantation that occupied this territory in the American south. The plantation was named for the African country that was the origin of many slaves brought to Louisiana. A steel and concrete tower with external stairway that sits on a raised platform. The tower has a window on each of its four sides. A doorway is on the side closest to the metal stairs. The tower has a corrugated metal roof.
