The book binding consists of a hinged front and back cover and a lock, consisting of two brackets with a bracket. The front and back are decorated with a relief painting of a winged angel's head with an angel with leaf scrolls and floral motifs underneath, an oval shield with a debossed depiction, a bird and again a winged angel's head between curly tendrils. Around a pearl edge and a band with debossed, simple curl motifs. The oval shield on the front is filled with a representation of a miter, a cross and two chalices. The oval at the back with the tools of the Passion of Christ. The back is decorated with three scenes with Christ in a laurel wreath in the middle, and a winged angel's head above and below. The book cover contains an English prayer book with leather cover The Pocket Service = Book of the Church of England containing the Book of Common Prayer, published by Oxford University Press. In addition, two separate leaflets an Order of Confirmation and The Harmony of Holy Week, and seven English and German prayer cards, 1981
