Steller sea lions. Fishing net around the neck of a Steller, or northern, sea lion (Eumetopias jubatus). Numerous sea lions are killed every year due to entanglement in fishing nets. This is the largest species of sea lion, with males weighing up to 1100 kilograms. The Steller sea lion is a carnivorous mammal whose main prey is fish.
