Joseph Cinqué, c. 1814 - c. 1879, leader of the 1839 revolt on the slave ship La Amistad. He was born in what is now Sierra Leone. He was the principal character of the Steven Spielberg film Amistad which recreated the events. In the film he was played by Djimon Hounsou.
