Imperial staircase, St Florian Monastery, Sankt Florian, Upper Austria, c1935. Balustrade decorated with marble chuerubs, with decorative plasterwork and ceiling frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte. The Augustinian monastery dedicated to St Florian was founded in the ninth century. It was rebuilt between 1686 and 1708 in Baroque style by Carlo Antonio Carlone.
