The vase has a black background with some cutouts, including a frieze on the belly. On the frieze, men, women and children are painted in pastel colors, who dance, fly kites, sit at a table drinking and play with boulders (?) And knuckles. The ears are decorated with embossed palmettes. The frieze is signed: P.M. Roussel and the vase is marked, group dancing, Manufacture Impériale de Sèvres, Sèvres, 1858, biscuit (porcelain, material), bronze (metal), gilding, h 59.5 cm × d 29 cm d 13.4 cm.
