Sensory Organization Test

A sensory organization test assesses the ability to maintain balance and postural stability using different visual, somatosensory, and proprioceptive stimuli. During the test, the subject stands on a platform which is stationary or can move and sway (i.e. sway-referenced surface). Six conditions are replicated during the test to isolate stimuli that affect balance control and responses of the central nervous system.
