glass pane, ca. 1510-1520, glass, lead, Diameter: 23.8 x 0.4cm 238 x 4mm, biblical representation, Round glass pane with a stained-glass representation of the wedding at Cana, John 2: 1-12. Mary points out to her son that there is no more wine at the wedding, when Christ turned six barrels of water into wine. The pane follows the Bible story closely. Depicted are six water vessels, five on the floor and six in the hand of the master of ceremonies, who offers a bowl of wine to the man to the left of Christ. The woman with the draped cloak in the foreground, sitting on the stool and half visible on the back, is probably Mary. Behind the table, next to the man who hands over the wine, the bride and groom sit. The interior is richly decorated with a checkered tile floor and patterned tapestries. The abundant use of gold-colored silver yellow enhances the decorative effect. In grisaille and silver yellow, in a lead mount, 1970.
