World's Largest Post-War Liner At Southampton -- The 'Caronia', largest liner built in the world since the end of the war, passes the old 'Aquitania' as she arrives here after her week-end cruise from Gourock, Scotland. Among her passengers was the Duke of Edinburgh. The liner 34,000 tons, was launched at John Brown's yards at Glasgow by Princess Elizabeth in 1947. December 20, 1948.
